Second Chance

A puzzle-platformer where you only have seconds to get to the end of the level, but times slows down dramatically.

This game was developed for the MAYhem GameJam, a 48 hour gamejam

The gamejam theme was second chance and we decided to interpret „second“ as time and made a puzzle-platformer inspired by games like Portal (of course), Quantum Conundrum and Superhot. The player gets to see the level from his/her starting platform in real time but as soon as the player steps of the platform, time slows down. The player character however is not affected by the slow-motion and can still run and interact with the world by picking up mirrors & boxes and generally jump around.

We were a team of 3 developers and I was mostly responsible for the slowing mechanic, the character movement and the laser interactions.
